Lone Star College Foundation
Providing scholarships, supporting programs and building communities
Founded in 1991, the Foundation has expanded its initial investment of $20,000 into an extensive portfolio of over $30 million, and has provided over $15 million in scholarships to nearly 16,000 students, as well as more than $7 million in program support since its inception. In 2019-2020, the Foundation provided $2.1 million in scholarships to 2,242 students plus $507,000 in program support and $185,000 in emergency support to Lone Star College.
Relationships & partnerships
The Foundation builds relationships with individuals, corporations and non-profit organizations through a robust fundraising program that includes corporate partnerships, major gifts, employee giving and two special events, the annual "Drive for Scholarships" golf tournament and StarGala auction and dinner.
Only the best for our students
Today's workforce is competitive and the economy is challenging. It is important that our students participate in cutting edge programs in top-notch facilities. This is why the Foundation partners with Lone Star College faculty and leadership in seeking donations of state-of-the-art equipment so that they are ready to make an impact on day one of their careers.
Why our donors give to the Foundation
Ninety-one percent of Lone Star College students remain in their communities and become the backbone of a prosperous and functioning society. This combination of higher student incomes and increased business productivity adds nearly $3 billion to the Houston economy. Due to today's changing workforce demands and the needs of our local economy, our donors' support of the Foundation is vital, as well as a great return on investment.
