Helping Hands

Meet Brandon Tucker, a nursing student at LSC-Montgomery and recipient of the Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Hospital scholarship. Brandon knows some helping hands can make all the difference.

"At first, I was in shock, because while I have applied for hundreds of scholarships, I have never received one" he says, after learning of his scholarship award. By reducing students' financial burden, donors give a helping hand to so many. LSC Foundation scholarship recipients report higher GPA's and higher persistence rates than their non-scholarship peers.

After graduation, Brandon wants to use his helping hands working as an ER Trauma Nurse to help people when they need it most. Nursing is a vital profession that benefits the entire community and area hospitals, like Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Hospital, understand this and choose to support Lone Star College students in their journey towards a rewarding career.

Endowments, like the Memorial Hermann The Woodlands Hospital endowment, will award scholarships to deserving students in perpetuity, where its already awarded more than 20 scholarships to nursing students like Brandon. Ninety-one percent of Lone Star College students remain in their communities and become the backbone of a prosperous and functioning society.

Brandon is thankful to the donor for his scholarship and reminds others that, "What may seem an insignificant cost for you right now, could save someone's life one day."

Brandon chose to attend LSC due to its reputation as a good college, the affordability, and proximity. If you're interested in lending a helping hand to students like Brandon by donating, please click HERE.
