Live the Dream
"Live the Dream" is a scholarship for the anticipated LSC-Houston North aimed to promote student success through a combination of pre-college preparation and strategically supported college experiences. Awards could include (1) a free college course for incoming freshmen that complete a specific pre-college program, and/or (2) up to $750 towards tuition and books for each fall and spring semesters.
To receive the free college course, high school seniors must participate in the LSC-Houston North Academy (HNA). A student must be recommended by a high school counselor or associated administrator to enter the HNA.
To receive the scholarship, students must enroll in a minimum of 9 credit hours at LSC-Houston North, submit a short essay explaining their reasoning for attending college, and agree to be partnered with a faculty/staff mentor. Upon receiving the award, the students will need to complete a mentor/mentee checklist each semester, maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0 or higher, and participate in a designated service project. Students will be eligible for renewal up to the accumulation of 70 credit hours or the completion of a certificate or degree.
Students must be eligible for in-district tuition to receive either award.
