The Lone Star College Office of Culture and Engagement's mission is to create a systemwide approach that provides all students, employees, and community with a sense of belonging and access to opportunities.
Our vision is for Lone Star College to be a model educational institution recognized for providing innovative and transformative policies, practices, and programming that eliminates barriers and creates opportunity for students, employees and the community.
Culture and Engagement Objectives
Our office is collaborating across LSC to create cultural awareness, learning and professional development programming. Objectives evolved out of Lone Star College's Cultural beliefs:
Identify opportunities to enhance the climate and ensure we embody a culture of inclusion for everyone.
Provide opportunities for continuous individual and institutional learning, reflection, and collaboration for students, faculty, and staff.
Collaborate with faculty and administration on developing practices that reduce barriers for students and promotes student success, retention, and completion.
Increase recruitment, hiring, and retention of faculty and staff to support our continuously growing diverse student community.
Create collaborative community partnerships that enhance our ability to serve our students and communities they come from.
Ensure transparency and accountability on of culture and engagement.
