The Advising process is an integral part of your academic success and helps to ensure that you stay on your academic pathway. Whether your goal is to get an associates degree and transfer, or just take a few classes, advisors are here to help you achieve your academic goals. Academic advisors are available at each LSC campus through Live Chat, email, and virtual advising sessions and can assist you with a variety of academic services including degree planning, class registration, career and transfer advising, referral of campus and community resources, add/drop/withdrawal process, and graduation processes. We're here to help you!
Advisor or Counselor?
Each LSC campus provides students with the opportunity to meet with both academic advisors and licensed professional counselors. Students unsure over whether to meet with an advisor or counselor regarding their academic, career or disability issues may want to review our Advisor or Counselor information.
To contact an advisor at the campus you consider your home campus, you may want to choose Live Chat Support. This provides you the opportunity to chat live online with an advisor to get your questions answered as quickly as possible. If you prefer to e-mail your campus advising department, scroll down to see campus contact information.
Live Chat Hours
Monday through Friday: 9:00 am – 4:00 pm
Saturday: 9:00 am – 2:00 pm
Log into your myLoneStar account and on the Student Homepage, click on the Live Chat Support tile (pictured, right). Select the advising department at the campus that you take the majority of your classes at and sign in to chat with an advisor.
Once students have completed the admissions and advising process, the next step is registration. Students should be aware of registration options, course formats, payment procedures and deadlines.
