Complete New Student Orientation On-Campus or Virtually
Currently, all First Time in College students have the option to complete their required New Student Orientation either face-to-face (On-Campus), virtually (NSO Live). To get the best New Student Orientation experience we encourage you to register for an On-Campus NSO or a NSO Live orientation offered through the campus you plan to attend. During the NSO On-Campus and Live sessions you will have the opportunity to speak with campus staff and get your questions answered so that you are ready for the upcoming semester. Remember that if you plan to register for classes during NSO, you must have your bacterial meningitis requirement completed on your New Student Checklist in my.LoneStar.edu.
For students that plan to take all their classes online, NSO On Demand is available. Email an NSO Coordinator at the campus you plan to enroll at to get more information.
You can access the New Student Orientations options from your applicant homepage in the my.LoneStar.edu student portal. Once you successfully complete New Student Orientation, the orientation requirement will be checked off your New Student Checklist in my.LoneStar.edu, and you will be ready to complete final steps and be ready to register for classes. First time in college students will need to complete New Student Orientation to be eligible to register. Academic Advisors are also available to assist you with selecting classes that fit your Academic Pathway.
To view suggested classes for your major and register, sign into my.LoneStar.edu, click on the “Student” tile, the “Manage Classes” tile, and click the “Plan and Register for Classes” button.
