LSC-North Harris New Student Orientation

Welcome to LSC-North Harris!

We are very excited that you have chosen LSC-North Harris to pursue your educational goals! All First Time in College (FTIC) students are required to attend New Student Orientation (NSO). Transfer students are not required to attend, although it is recommended. NSO is an opportunity to connect with other new students and learn more about LSC-North Harris, including resources that are available to students. Additionally, Academic and Financial Aid Advisors will be available to help students select and enroll in classes for their first semester.

You are considered a First Time in College (FTIC) Student if:

  1. You have never taken a credit college course since graduating from high school
  2. You enrolled, but never successfully completed a credit college course
  3. You previously took college credit while enrolled in high school

Before Registering for New Student Orientation

Student must complete the steps in their student checklist before attending a New Student Orientation session. 

Once you have completed all the above steps, you are ready to register for orientation!

Orientation Sessions begin promptly at the time listedLate arrivals will be asked to reschedulePlease arrange your schedule to attend the entire time listed. Walk-Ins will be allowed only if the session is not full and the student has completed all the above requirements. You may change or reschedule your New Student Orientation at any time through your myLoneStar account.

LSC-North Harris is currently offering sessions in-person and virtual orientation sessions at various times throughout the week. Log in to your myLoneStar to register for a specific time and date to complete your New Student Orientation!

During the session

New students will receive pertinent information regarding LSC-North Harris resources, MyLoneStar operation, and experience LSC-North Harris. You will have the opportunity to speak with an advisor and enroll in classes after the Orientation session. At the conclusion of New Student Orientation, if your Check List is complete, you will be able to enroll in classes. Any of our knowledgeable advisors will be able to assist you with class selection and enrollment. Please be sure you have completed the check list above prior to New Student Orientation.

Please be sure bring a photo ID and arrive 10 minutes prior to start time for easy check-in.

Reminder:

Check-in begins 10 minutes before all sessions.

In-person sessions: If you are more than 10 minutes late, you will need to reschedule.

Virtual sessions: If you are more than 5 minutes late, you will need to reschedule.

LSC-North Harris is offering New Student Orientation sessions via OnDemand. Email NH-NSO@LoneStar.edu or text 832.399.5929 with your name and student ID number to request the OnDemand New Student Orientation be added to your account. *Must be TSI Complete to enroll in OnDemand Orientation.
