Key Areas and Responsibility
Community Relations & Outreach
The Community Relations and Outreach Department builds strong connections between Lone Star College and local nonprofit organizations, community groups, and civic partners. In addition to fostering strategic partnerships and enhancing the college’s visibility at key events, the department leads student outreach and recruitment efforts, working to expand access and engagement with prospective students.
Internal Relations
The Internal Relations Department supports college-wide engagement and events that foster connection, collaboration, and pride among faculty, staff, and students. The department leads student leadership programs, internal initiatives, and signature events that strengthen the campus experience and promote institutional priorities. It also provides marketing, design, and communication support for all areas of OICR, ensuring consistent branding and increased visibility of key programs. Through integrated planning and assessment, the department supports institutional effectiveness efforts across the OICR division.
Government Relations
The External Relations Department is dedicated to building and maintaining strategic relationships with local government entities, businesses, chambers of commerce, and regional partners to promote student success and institutional advancement. By fostering collaboration with city and county officials, civic leaders, and industry stakeholders, the department supports initiatives that strengthen the college’s presence in the community and expand student access to meaningful educational experiences. It also engages in advocacy efforts that align with the college’s mission, helping to shape policies and partnerships that advance workforce development and educational opportunity across the region.
