Thank you for your interest in serving as the 2026 LSC-Montgomery Commencement student speaker. Applications are now open. Prior to applying for Student Speaker, please ensure you meet and complete the following.
Speaker Candidates:
- Must be a Fall 2025, Spring 2026, Summer 2026 graduate
- Be in good academic standing with Lone Star College
- Must be a LSC-Montgomery campus student
- Must be available to participate in the 2026 LSC-Montgomery Commencement ceremony which will be held on May 15, 2026
- Must complete the Student Speaker application by March 1, 2026.
Application Information
As part of the application, please submit a 3-5 minute written Commencement speech draft. The draft should include what you would like to speak about at the Commencement ceremony and may include personal stories and experiences, anecdotes, and/or motivational messages for the graduating class. Application requires a written submission and strongly encourages a video submission.The speech will be judged on the content (unique perspective, motivational aspects, relevant quotations, and anecdotes), presentation style, and delivery. Keynote & Student Speaker selection will be made by the Executive Cabinet (EC).
Submissions should be uploaded to the March 1, 2026.
Speaker Selection
During Week of March 9: Internal interview and selection process takes place. Students may be selected for an in-person or WebEx interview. During the interview, students will be asked to present their 3-5 minute “preview” speech.
Commencement Student Speaker
The 2026 LSC-Montgomery Commencement Student Speake will have the following:
- A photograph and bio information printed in the LSC-Montgomery Commencement program
- Be invited to sit on stage during the ceremony
- The opportunity to meet and join the processional (walk-in) with the stage participants (President, Vice Presidents, Deans, etc.)
- Request reserved seating for family members and guests (within limits)
