Among the students receiving a Shining Star Award was Marshall Mullins, a proud LSC-University Park Chess Club member and dedicated volunteer at the YMCA, where he teaches free chess classes.

"I am grateful. Just being nominated for this award is a tremendous honor," Mullins commented, reflecting on his achievements and the opportunities provided by LSC-University Park.

Mullins has also been recognized as a semifinalist for the prestigious Jack Kent Cooke Scholarship.
