Lone Star College-East Aldine Center proudly announces a new partnership with Evident Scientific, Inc., a leading provider of advanced industrial inspection and imaging solutions.

Through this collaboration, Evident Scientific will provide the college’s Nondestructive Testing (NDT) Program with five Epoch 650 Ultrasonic Flaw Detectors under a three-year agreement.

“This partnership represents a significant enhancement to our Inspection Technology Program here at LSC–East Aldine Center,” said Reyna Tippetts, Dean of Instruction. “The addition of these advanced units will expand access to cutting-edge technology, giving our students more hands-on experience with industry-standard equipment.”

With the new devices, students will benefit from increased individual practice time, allowing them to perform essential calibration and flaw detection procedures independently.

“This opportunity for independent practice is crucial for reinforcing technical skills and improving overall learning outcomes,” said Professor Eddie Pompa, who led the partnership initiative.

As part of the agreement, Evident Scientific will provide ongoing training and maintenance services for the equipment throughout the three-year period. The company has also committed to upgrading the units should newer models become available, ensuring that students continue to train on the most current technology in the field.

“This collaboration strengthens our mission to prepare students for successful technical careers by aligning education with real-world industry practices,” added Tippetts.
