Jeff Watts, professor of legal studies at Lone Star College–North Harris, authored a feature article in the winter issue of Burden of Proof, the newsletter of the Houston Metropolitan Paralegal Association.

The article examines proposed paralegal-related legislation under consideration in the Texas Legislature, outlining measures that could significantly expand the scope and professional responsibilities of paralegals within the state’s legal system.

In the same issue, Watts was recognized as a November 2025 Volunteer Spotlight recipient by the National Association of Legal Assistants. The honor acknowledges his service on NALA’s Certifying Board, where he helps uphold the national standards and credibility of the Certified Paralegal credential.
