Stop by the Bosque Gallery for two summer art shows that will excite your senses with astonishing artwork.
Cool off while viewing the pop-up exhibition “Wait for It” by Houston painter, artist and educator Julie De Vries on display June 15-June 25. This show is focused on how time plays out in sequence and the artist’s relationship to time and nature. Make plans to meet this talented artist and hear about what inspires her creative work at the 4:30 p.m. closing reception June 25.
Then come back for the stunning multi-media exhibition “Etereo” by LSC-CyFair 2019 alum Vicky Suarez July 9 – Aug. 20. This show is an opportunity to see how Suarez combines materials in unexpected ways and offers multiple ways to interact with her art. Learn more about Suarez’s artistry and journey from being an award-winning artist in LSC-CyFair’s Student Art Shows to an accomplished artist in a solo Bosque Gallery exhibition at the 5:30 p.m. opening and closing receptions or from noon – 2 p.m. July 23.

A “Marvel-ous” Squirrel Girl Play
Enjoy an upbeat and whimsical comedic mystery this summer with LSC-CyFair’s Drama Department Summer Children’s Show “Squirrel Girl Goes to College” June 23 – June 25.
Doreen, aka Squirrel Girl, arrives at Empire State University to make new friends – and protect them from super villains – by keeping her super hero identity a secret. But when a beloved computer science professor suddenly disappears, can Doreen trust her friends with her inner squirrel so she can save the day?
“Come see this fun-loving Marvel Universe hero as she uses squirrel-like abilities and positive attitude along with Tippy-Toe at her side to solve the case of the missing professor,” said Joshua Estrada, Fine Art Coordinator. “This Squirrel Girl Play by Karen Zacarias is perfect for Marvel fans of all ages, families, daycares and other youth groups.”
This children’s comedy will be performed in LSC-CyFair’s Center for the Arts Main Stage Theatre June 23 - June 25 at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday through Thursday with additional 7:30 p.m. family night performances Wednesday and Thursday.
