Join the celebration of Dog Days of Summer this July at the Lone Star College-CyFair Library’s dog-themed activities for lifelong dog lovers or those seeking a tail-wagging summer adventure.
Come “Dig & Discover” a paw-some month of learning and fun with stories, crafts and hands-on enjoyment for all ages concluding July 25 with an “All Dog Day” with family activities and dog adoption opportunity.
July 11: Tales to Tails** (a 2 p.m. activity for children kindergarten+)
July 14: Paper Embroidery – Dog Card** (activity for tweens at 1 p.m. and again at 2:30 p.m.)
July 14: INSPIRE Workshop: Positive Training for People and Pets (an 11 a.m. workshop for adult pet parents age 18+)
July 16: Makerspace: Embroidered Dog Bandana** (age 13+ with an adult) and Paper Embroidery – Dog Card** (activity for teens at 11 a.m. then 2 p.m. respectively)
July 25: All Dog Day – Family Events:
- 10:30 a.m. - Family Story Time**
- 11:30 a.m. - Stuffy Pawrade** (decorate a float or make a balloon dog and march in parade around the library)
- noon – 2 p.m. - Pupper Person Pawty (for all ages to meet adoptable dogs – maybe your new best friend - from Texas Great Pyrenees Rescue)
- 2 p.m. – Jurassic Bark Treat Lab** (hands-on program making easy no-bake treats for dogs)
