Lone Star Corporate College, Ciena to offer Carrier Ethernet training

Lone Star Corporate College at LSC-University Park will be hosting two five-day training sessions to prepare attendees to take the Carrier Ethernet certification exam.

The first session will be held March 22-26 at LSC-University Park, with the second session set for July 26-30. The sessions will be taught by Ciena, the network specialist.

These are separate training opportunities – attendees need only to participate in one of the sessions to sit for the certification exam.

This partnership of Lone Star Corporate College and Ciena Learning Solutions will offer technology professionals and students the opportunity to distinguish themselves with an in-depth understanding of future large-scale network technology through the Carrier Ethernet Associate certification. The certification course from Ciena teaches the standards, terminology, concepts and applications of Carrier Ethernet. It is recommended for IT, engineering and telecommunications professionals.

Carrier Ethernet is defined by a number of standards and recommendations from multiple organizations. It supports predictable, cost-effective delivery of a variety of services and the technology standardizes interfaces, formats and baseline performance characteristics. There are many technological advances that set Carrier Ethernet apart from standard Ethernet.

“This is a great opportunity for individuals from throughout Texas to participate in this training,” said Connie Thomas, business training consultant for Lone Star Corporate College.

“We are pleased to be able to partner with Ciena to offer this level of instruction to prepare those in attendance for the Carrier Ethernet certification exam,” Thomas said.

The sessions will be held at Lone Star Corporate College, which is located at State Highway 249 and Louetta Road within the LSC-University Park complex.  Payment and registration can be completed at http://www.gcc-training.com/
