Book Drive Benefits Teen Patients at Texas Children’s

A book drive for teen patients at Texas Children’s Hospital is under way through October at Lone Star College-CyFair Branch Library.

“Being absorbed in a good novel will help these teens who are receiving medical treatment entertain themselves and help make their hospitalization more pleasant and seem to go faster,” said Elise Sheppard, teen librarian.

Consider donating new or gently used books through October for middle school to high school teens with:

• no frayed /torn edges or scribble marks
• no yellowed/musty smelling pages
• no loose bindings or missing pages

Donations can be left in the library at 9191 Barker Cypress Road in the collection bin located in front of the LSC-CyFair Friends of the Library Bookstore or with staff at the library’s customer service desk. Donor should indicate on a note that donations are for Elise Sheppard and the Texas Children’s Hospital Book Drive.

Sponsoring this book drive are the Teens of the Lone Star College-CyFair Branch Library, LSC-CyFair Branch Friends of the Library and Texas Children’s Hospital.
