Lone Star Corporate College to present 'Divorce and Family Mediation'

 

HOUSTON (May 17, 2012) – Lone Star Corporate College will present the “Divorce and Family Mediation” professional development seminar as part of the Lone Star College Networking Lunch Series.

The seminar will be held on Thursday, June 7 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Lone Star Community Building, 5000 Research Forest Drive in The Woodlands.

The seminar is non-technical and is geared toward anyone interested in learning how mediation can save you and your family time, money and relationships, including anyone who knows someone heading for divorce or who has difficult family issues.  In addition, anyone who wants to know more about family mediation ranging from juvenile issues to elder care would also benefit from the seminar.

At the June 7 presentation, attendees will learn about the advantages of mediation, why many courts will order mediation and who or what can be mediated.  The differences between mediation, arbitration and litigation will also be discussed.

Gerri Dorsett, owner of Resolve Today and a Texas Mediator Credentialing Association (TMCA) credentialed distinguished mediator, will present the seminar along with David Swallow, a TMCA credentialed advanced mediator.  Dorsett completed her training at the WorkLife Institute in Houston and has facilitated for community projects such as a question/answer evening with politicians and citizens as well as the Harris County Public Health & Environmental Service and citizens in the Houston area.
