Lone Star College, Texas Workforce Commission hosting free Veterans Job Fair

HOUSTON (Aug. 24, 2012) – Lone Star College System and the Texas Workforce Commission are hosting a free Veterans Job Fair on Thursday, Aug. 30 from 2 to 5 p.m. at LSC-University Park.

The job fair is being held in conjunction with the College Credit for Heroes program and is hosted by the LSCS Career Services Council, TWC and the LSCS Veterans Affairs Center.

Veterans and others seeking employment will have the opportunity to network with more than 30 employers from around the Houston area seeking to fill a variety of full-and part-time positions in many professional and non-professional occupations.

Attendees will have access to free resume advice, and the first 200 attendees will receive a free gift.

Some of the recruiters that are scheduled to attend the job fair represent Crane World Wide, Dyna Drill, Gulf Stream Marine, Halliburton, Houston Fire Department, Houston Police Department, MEMCO, Plastipak Packaging, US Foods and more.

The job fair is free and open to the public. It will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. in the West Dining conference room at LSC-University Park, 20515 State Highway 249 at Louetta Road in Houston.

Officials recommend that attendees should dress professionally and bring copies of their resumes.
