College’s Writers in Performance Series Presents Award-Winning Poet Nathan Brown

Award-winning poet, Nathan BrownLone Star College-Montgomery’s Writers in Performance series continues its fall line-up with a reading by award-winning poet Nathan Brown on Thursday, November 15, at 3 p.m., in the Library Building (Building F).

A noted writer, Brown has published eight books, including his most recent: Karma Crisis: New and Selected Poems (Mezcalita Press, 2012).

Brown, who’s also a musician, editor, and photographer, leads workshops in high schools, universities, and community organizations on creativity, creative writing, and the need for readers to not give up on poetry. He also performs poetry readings and concerts.

Brown holds a Ph.D in creative and professional writing from the University of Oklahoma, where he is now a faculty member.

The goal of the Writers in Performance series is to bring thought-provoking literature and cultural diversity to the campus of LSC-Montgomery and the surrounding community. The series’ events are made possible by the partnership between the Montgomery County Literary Arts Council, LSC-Montgomery Library, the Conroe Commission on the Arts and Culture, Good Books in the Woods, LSC-Montgomery’s Academy for Lifelong Learning, and SWIRL, LSC-Montgomery’s magazine of student art and writing.
