Community Veterans Invited to Support Meeting at LSC-Montgomery

Lone Star College-Montgomery has begun hosting a bimonthly support meeting for veterans. Following this week’s meeting (Thursday, September 19, from 6-8 p.m.), subsequent meetings will be held October 3, October 17, October 31, November 14, and December 12. All meetings will be held in the Health Science Center (Building B), Room 102, with refreshments provided.
 
Area veterans, as well as LSC-Montgomery student veterans are encouraged to attend.
 
A combat veteran from Tri County Services will facilitate discussion on veteran-specific issues, such as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), transitioning to civilian life, relationship issues, college life, and more.

LSC-Montgomery offers student veterans personalized help with VA, state, and federal benefits; veteran-specific orientations; assistance with classroom accommodation; special outreach services for life outside the college; and an assistive technology lab for anyone with specialized needs.
