LSC-University Park President Serving on Pearl Fincher Board

Lone Star College-University Park President Shah Ardalan accepted an invitation to serve on the Pearl Fincher Museum of Fine Arts Board of Directors and attended his first board meeting March 19.

Ardalan said, “It is an honor and privilege to serve on the Pearl Fincher board and to work with board chairman Dr. Calvin B. Cobb and other great community leaders including Dr. James Cain, Judge Lincoln Goodwin, State Rep Patricia Harless and Ray Laughter. I appreciate the opportunity to be affiliated with this iconic, respected and important asset of our community.”

Ardalan recently led a visit and tour of the museum for LSC-University Park faculty members and academic administrators. They spent time looking for ways to widen and deepen the relationships between the two organizations.

The museum, located at 6815 Cypresswood Drive, is part of the Cypress Creek Cultural District and provides a wide variety of exhibits, concerts, workshops and summer camps for the surrounding community. It is named after the late Pearl Fincher, mother of Texas State Rep. Patricia Harless. Fincher was an avid supporter of the arts and led art organizations in Spring and Tomball before her death in 2010.

Ardalan has served as president of LSC-University Park since 2012 and he is immediate past chair of the Houston Northwest Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors.
