Late Start courses offer options to LSC-University Park students

HOUSTON - There is still time for students to register for the fall 2017 semester at Lone Star College-University Park. A final set of eight-week Late Start courses are scheduled to begin the week of Oct. 23, and registration is open now.

Late Start courses offer a convenient alternative to full semester courses for students who need flexible schedules. After the impact of Hurricane Harvey, students and their families are looking for opportunities to enroll in courses this semester and continue on their educational paths.

“As the community’s college, we strive to provide access to quality education that is not only affordable, but convenient for the diverse communities we serve,” said LSC-University Park President Shah Ardalan. “Especially in a time of need and recovery, Late Start courses allow students the ability to create a custom class schedule that works for them.”

Similar to traditional classes, Late Start classes enable students to pursue a workforce certification, associate degree, or prepare for a four-year university transfer.

Late Start courses are available through in-person, online and hybrid formats. Students can take daytime and evening classes and can register until the first day of each class.

New students who would like to register for Late Start classes must apply for admission at www.LoneStar.edu/Admissions or at the LSC-University Park Admissions Office. Current students may enroll in Late Start courses at my.LoneStar.edu. For more information and to see a list of Late Start courses, visit LoneStar.edu/UP-LateStart.
