Lone Star College-North Harris student Shadae Lewis is one of 50 students nationally receiving the 2021 Coca-Cola Academic Team Gold Scholarship as a member of the college’s Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society.
Lewis will receive a $1,500 scholarship and commemorative medallion to celebrate her achievement. The Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation recognizes 50 Gold, Silver, and Bronze Scholars to provide financial assistance to outstanding students enrolled at community colleges.
“When I found out I would receive this scholarship, I was in shock,” Lewis said. “I am very thankful for everyone who has shown me love, support and who has pushed me to do my best,” Lewis said.
Lewis is completing her final semester at LSC-North Harris, working towards an associate degree. After graduation, she will transfer to a four-year university and major in Computer Science. The newest Gold Scholar has a growing list of schools she has applied to, like Rice University, Harvard, Stanford, and more.
Coca-Cola Academic Team members will be recognized in both local and statewide ceremonies and virtually during Phi Theta Kappa’s annual international convention, PTK Catalyst, in April.
