LSC-North Harris president joins Texas Transfer Advisory Committee

Lone Star College-North Harris President Dr. Archie L. Blanson is one of 24 members serving on the Texas Transfer Advisory Committee (TTAC) for the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board.

Dr. Blanson was appointed to the advisory committee in May 2021. As a committee member, he will work to support transfer students and increase their ability to apply their courses to a major at four-year universities in the state of Texas.

“I am looking forward to researching the best practices for students who are looking to transfer,” said Dr. Blanson. “It’s going to be very new to me working with colleges outside of our area, but very beneficial since our students transfer all over the state when they graduate.”

The TTAC will advise the Commissioner of Higher Education and agency staff on the state’s transfer policy framework, including the development of the Field of Study Curricula. Dr. Blanson will serve on the advisory committee through August 2022.
