Lone Star College-Atascocita Center is expanding its continuing education offerings for spring 2023.

Starting in February, the LSC-Kingwood satellite center will offer many Academy for Lifelong Learning (ALL) courses: Beginning Painting, Crafting with Love, Food Labels, Mindful Eating, Sit and Be Fit, Walk Across Texas, Walking Club, Dining at Dollar Store, Master of Memory and Medication Management.

“We provide many courses and services to help students achieve their academic goals,” said Karen Woolley, LSC-Atascocita Center Interim Dean. “Offering ALL programming at the center allows members to learn new skills and interact with others close to home.”

ALL is a daytime program for adults aged 50 and older who are retired, semi-retired or still working. Activities are perfect for those who are seeking new friends or interests. LSC’s Academy for Lifelong Learning Program offers more than 300 free or low-cost classes and events.

“Our non-credit courses, lectures and activities help expand members’ knowledge and enhance their social connections,” said Pat Chandler, Continuing Education Director at LSC-Kingwood and LSC ALL Program Director.

The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service will sponsor many ALL classes at LSC-Atascocita Center. Campus employees will teach the other programs. Annual membership (Sept. 1-Aug. 31) is $25 for access to classes at all seven LSC campuses. Although most courses are free, some may require a small event fee for supplies or entrance to an outside activity. Visit LoneStar.edu/ALL to learn more.

LSC-Atascocita Center, located at 15903 West Lake Houston Parkway, offers general core classes that lead to an associate degree or transfer credits to a four-year university. Available continuing education programs are high-demand, fast-track classes that are affordable and accessible and prepare students to enter the workforce quickly.  Registration for Winter Mini-Term 2022 and Spring 2023 is now open. View LoneStar.edu/Registration for a list of offered courses.
