Pilot Program Aims to Transform Latino Lives

LSC-Kingwood is raising the bar for supporting and serving Latino students in education. It is one of eight institutions chosen by the group Excelencia in Education for a pilot project. The project, “Community Colleges Transforming by Engaging Latino Students,” is an effort to dig deeper to connect with and intentionally serve Latino students.

The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation is helping to fund the project. The partnership between Excelencia and LSC-Kingwood will include yearly grant payments, technical assistance and coaching in strategies to help engage Latino students and ensure their continued success in education.

LSC-Kingwood looks forward to being a leader in this transformational journey for Latino students.
