Lone Star College-Montgomery Celebrates Workforce and GED® Graduates May 25

Lone Star College-Montgomery Continuing Education program will honor its 327 Workforce and 50 GED® graduates with a Continuing Education Achievement Ceremony held May 25, 2023, at 6 p.m. on campus. The ceremony's keynote speaker is Jana Kelly, CPA Finance Consultant with Crowe LLP.

“This is one of the ceremonies that touches my heart, as we find stories of courage, persistence, and triumph in our GED® graduates and our Workforce completers every year. Success is also contagious, and our GED® students know they have opened the door to college access. Our Workforce students know that they have taken a successful first step in continuing their academic development in higher education,” Marth Neely, LSC-Montgomery Campus Director of Career, Technology and Continuing Education program, stated. “I invite them to climb the next step on the educational ladder that makes them more skilled and opens the doors to more opportunities and better salaries to improve their lives, that of their families, and that of our community.”

Continuing Education programs focus on educating students in targeted occupations through fast-track certifications or courses to train for high-demand jobs quickly. Programs focus on the critical technical and behavioral skills students need to achieve their goals and join the workforce. Each certificate program includes either industry-recognized certification, State or National occupational accreditation. Classes can be taken at the LSC-Montgomery campus or LSC-Conroe Center in Conroe, TX, where classes are offered day, evening, hybrid, weekend, and online. A variety of certificates can be completed in six months or less.
