Lone Star College-University Park (LSC-University Park) ushered in the Fall 2023 semester on Monday, August 28, with Roar Week. The hallmark semester kick-off event is meant to help students engage with campus life and get excited about starting a new academic year. This semester's Roar Week activities included a welcome carnival, Waffle Wednesday, a tailgate party, Build-a-Leo, contests like Trivia Tuesday, and plenty of other events, prizes, snacks, and giveaways.

LSC-University Park has welcomed 10,918 students so far this fall. That number is expected to rise as enrollment opportunities continue. The fall semester is a time for new beginnings for many students who are eager to start their classes, meet new people, and make the most of their college experience.

"I love the faculty and staff here at Lone Star College-University Park. They give me the support I need for my classes. That's why I came back," said Zoe Young, a returning student. "Roar Week is fun; it gets the students hyped and ready for the semester."
