LSC-North Harris Offers Health Care Workers Spanish and Cultural Awareness Class

The increasing Spanish-speaking population and the healthcare industry are two constants in the Texas economy.  For health care employees, the ability to communicate with Spanish-speaking clients on a basic level enables a more comfortable and efficient exchange of information. 
          
A Health Care Spanish and Cultural Awareness class will be offered by Lone Star College- North Harris Continuing Education program, on Tuesday evenings, July 7 through Aug. 4, 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. Cost for the course is $126 and qualifies for 2 CEUs. The classes are designed for health care employees who want to develop practical Spanish communication skills appropriate for use within a hospital or a physician’s office. Students will learn medical terminology, greetings, common expressions, commands and phrases through Spanish for Nursing by Command Spanish, Inc.
