HOUSTON (May 12, 2022) – The Lone Star College-Atascocita Center eagerly invites the community to its Open House event on Thursday, May 19, from 5-7 p.m.

Attendees will have an opportunity to learn about credit offerings, core classes, pre-health occupation courses, general electives, and continuing education (CE) programs. Representatives will be on hand to discuss essential resources such as advising, financial aid, veterans’ resources, career services, library services, Communities in School (counseling), and TRIO.

“We encourage the community to come out, visit with representatives, and learn how to accomplish their academic or career goals,” said Karen Woolley, interim dean of the LSC-Atascocita Center. “In the fall, we will offer certain CE certificates.”

At the Open House, participants can enroll in summer or fall classes, tour the center, visit the anatomy and physiology and microbiology lab, and paint a canvas with an art faculty member. Additionally, there will be food and a raffle for a chance to win a $25 Barnes and Noble gift card or the grand prize, an Apple AirPods Pro.

During the event, iSchool High-Atascocita, a tuition-free, public charter school located at the LSC-Atascocita Center, will host a parent interest meeting from 6-7 p.m. in the center’s multipurpose room. The charter school offers personalized instruction that prepares high school students for college.
