The Learning Commons at Lone Star College-Kingwood is looking at different avenues to foster partnerships with the campus and community members. On April 21, the Learning Commons will commemorate Earth Day by launching its Seed Library, stocked with vegetable seeds. Additionally, attendees will receive bookmarks with herb seeds (cilantro or basil) at the bottom. Thanks to a mini-grant, the Seed Library will allow students, employees, and community members to pick up a seed or two for growing vegetables as another food supply source. To keep the cabinet stocked, the college will encourage participants to follow the theme, “Take a Seed, Leave a Seed.” This project is free and located in the college’s LIB Building on the first floor.
