Lone Star College-Montgomery recently held a special event to remember and honor the heroes of September 11. This annual gathering, hosted by the Veteran Services and Fitness Center, brought the community together for the Patriot Day Challenge, a symbolic climb held in the campus parking garage.
Participants took on a challenging climb up four levels and down three times. This was designed to be about 2,000 steps, mirroring the 2,071 steps that first responders climbed in the World Trade Center's Twin Towers. This physically demanding challenge served as a meaningful way for attendees to remember and honor those who selflessly gave their lives while also showing support for those who continue to serve our nation.
The event took place on September 11, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m., giving the LSC-M community a chance to join in on the challenge. Snacks and drinks were provided to help everyone stay energized and hydrated. The event served as a powerful reminder that these heroes' sacrifices will never be forgotten.
