Calling all faculty and staff . . . All, each year the LSC Office of Technology Services Department (OTS) provides each campus with funds to finance innovative projects that benefit students, faculty, and/or staff. We encourage you to submit a proposal this year. Attached is a flyer with details about the criteria used in the past to evaluate proposals. Also attached is a form to be used to submit your proposal.
Proposals are to be submitted, with all approvals, no later than Wednesday, November 25, 2015.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
- How much is a typical grant? The funds available are for up to $50,000 per campus. Individual grant awards could be a few thousand dollars to the entire amount requested. If the total amount available is not awarded, the funds are used by OTS for Tomball-related projects.
- How many grants are awarded each year? There’s no set number. There could be one award made or many. Also, we’ve had instances when we’ve awarded only a portion of a request.
- Can adjuncts and part-time staff apply for the grants? Yes. All full-time and part-time faculty and staff are encouraged to participate. To ensure projects are not disrupted, however, we ask that part-time faculty and staff partner with full-time employees. If this is a problem for you, please contact Carol Wheeler, 281-357-3656, Carol.A.Wheeler@LoneStar.edu. Receiving a grant award does not ensure future employment. Also, awards stay with LSC-Tomball.
