Extended Application Deadlines—Deadlines for the completion of Fall 2020 admission applications have been extended. We will now accept applications and supporting documents for all applicants except international freshmen through August 1, 2020. (The deadline for international freshmen applications has been extended until June 1, 2020.)
Submitting Supporting Documents—High school transcripts will be accepted by email from the student or school counselor for completion of applications. ACT/SAT score reports that include the student’s full name will also be considered, if submitted by email. All documents must be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org by the extended deadline.
New Student Orientation (NSO)—All new students will now complete Summer and Fall 2020 NSO online and the total cost has been reduced, accordingly. All NSO upfront costs have also been deferred and fees will be added to the student’s Fall registration bill. Incoming freshmen are encouraged to sign up for NSO as soon as possible. Updates and instructions for completing the online NSO will be sent to students as they become available.
Financial Aid and Scholarships—The deadline to accept financial aid and most university scholarship offers, including the national, assured and competitive scholarships, has been extended to June 1. Assured Scholarships will be awarded to students who qualify through the start of classes on August 24. Students who have not yet applied for financial aid for Fall 2020 may still apply for aid by completing a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
Campus Visits Canceled—All on-campus visits and events have been canceled through June. We have recorded an online presentation and video virtual campus tour and will be adding more presentations and live virtual information sessions soon. Our last Bobcat Day of the spring will be presented online, as well. Our Admissions Counselors are also available for virtual appointments with students and to answer your questions. Updates and additional information regarding online visits and events will be shared on the Visit page of our website, as they become available.
Pass/Fail Grades—Texas State will review final transcripts to verify course credit and high school graduation dates. Whether a high school elects to award pass/fail grades or numerical/letter grades will not affect the admission process. However, should a student fail a course, we reserve the right to reevaluate the admission decision.
Frequently Asked Questions—Our online FAQs have been expanded to include COVID-19 related information, and updates are being added regularly.
If you have questions that aren’t addressed above or in the online FAQs, please don’t hesitate to contact one of our Admissions Counselors or email us for assistance.
