Area of Study: Arts, Humanities, Communication & Design
These programs will prepare you for careers involving design, production, performance, and writing. The Associate of Arts, Music, and Speech programs are also designed to transfer to a 4-year institution.
The Pathway Plans below are suggested course plans created by faculty to help you plan your time at Lone Star and start strong on the path to your goals.
Talk to an advisor if:
You're a part-time student and don't see a plan for a program.
You took college courses elsewhere. You may be able to substitute those for required courses at LSC.
You want to transfer to a four-year school. You should make sure your elective choices will transfer where you want to go.

An Associate of Arts is an academic transfer degree designed for students who will ultimately be pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree at a four-year college/university that is not math or science oriented, for example: Business, Liberal Arts, History, Speech, Music, Education, Criminal Justice, etc.
Graduates of this program can transfer to a 4-year institution and major in music specializing in performance, music therapy, music education or musicology. The Music Field of Study courses also count toward the music minor.
Associate of Arts: Field of Study in Speech Communication
The Field of Study curriculum is designed to satisfy the lower division requirements for a bachelorís degree in a specific area at four-year colleges in the state of Texas. Credits earned in Field of Study curriculum transfer to other four year colleges in the state of Texas.
