Music Scholarships

Music scholarships are available to well-qualified LSC-University Park students who meet these criteria:

  • High school graduate or GED (dual credit students are ineligible)
  • College GPA of 2.0 or higher (high school GPA may be used for new students)
  • Must be enrolled at LSC-University Park in one or more MUSI or MUEN courses that are part of the Music Field of Study during the semester of the scholarship award

Available Scholarships

MUSIC SCHOLAR
You must be a declared music major at LSC-University Park and be enrolled in the music theory and ear training & sight singing sequence during the semester of the scholarship award. You can audition by singing, playing an instrument, or submitting a composition portfolio and scheduling an interview with the director of music.

VOCAL SCHOLAR
You must be enrolled in majorsí private voice lessons (MUAP 1282 or 2282) and/or one of the MUEN vocal ensembles (MUEN 1141/1151/1154) at LSC-University Park during the semester of the scholarship award. For auditions, prepare two memorized, contrasting excerpts. You will be asked to sing parts or all of one or both of these. You must provide sheet music for the accompanist, and it must be well prepared (printed double-sided, hole-punched, and in a binder). You must perform from memory without sheet music. Auditions may also be submitted by video, performed with backing/karaoke tracks.

INSTRUMENTAL SCHOLAR
You must be enrolled in majorsí private instrumental lessons (MUAP 1202/1222/1242/1258/1262/1270 or MUAP 2202/2222/2242/2258/2262/2270) and/or one of the MUEN instrumental ensembles at LSC-University Park during the semester of the scholarship award. For audition, prepare two contrasting excerpts. You will be asked to perform parts or all of one or both of these. If you need an accompanist, you must provide well-prepared sheet music (printed double-sided, hole-punched, and in a binder). You are not required to perform by memory. Auditions may also be submitted by video.
