Books & Bookstore

All Lone Star College Bookstores are now open for business for in-store purchases of school supplies, electronics and other merchandise.  Students can also make their purchase online by visiting the campus bookstore website.

Finding Your Textbooks

You can find the necessary textbooks for your classes by using the class search tool on the website or by logging in to myLoneStar. After entering your search criteria, click on a class link, and then click the “Textbook link” on the Class Detail page.

Textbook requirements are also available through your faculty syllabi and can be found using the syllabi search tool. Financial Aid students can get more information about how to acquire books through our book advances page.

A student of this institution is not under any obligation to purchase a textbook from a Lone Star College affiliated bookstore. The same textbook may also be available from an independent retailer, including an online retailer.

Online Vouchers

VA Students, Texas Workforce, and Baker Ripley Students

VA students must use a Tungsten authorization number for online orders using the instructions below:

  • Go to the Lone Star College Bookstore Website
  • Select your campus from the drop-down menu
  • Select textbooks
  • Select term
  • Enter your course information
  • View your book selection
  • Go to the checkout cart
  • Choose SFA (student financial aid) for method of payment and the appropriate methods:
    • Veteran Affair Students: must enter a Tungsten authorization number for the student ID
    • Baker Ripley Students: must enter a GZ or GD and number for the student ID
    • Texas Work Force Students: enter your Service authorization number for the student ID
  • Enter your shipping information
  • Choose free home shipping or in-store pickup
  • Complete your order

Rental Check-Ins

  • Summer Semester, rental returns are due August 22, 2021. 
  • Fall Semester 2021, rental returns are due December 17, 2021.
  • Students can still return textbook rentals by mail for a flat fee of $5.00 by using the following link: Lone Star College Rental Book Return.  You will need the original order number and email address used to rent your books to create label. 

Online Order Pick-up

Please select ship to home or in-store pick-up during checkout on the website.

  • For in-store pick-up orders, you must receive an email confirmation stating your order is ready for pick-up prior to coming to any campus pick-up locationNO EXCEPTIONS.
  • Please have your personal ID and Pick-up email ready and available when you arrive.

Textbook Buyback

Textbooks Buyback is available at the campus bookstore or or on-line at the campus bookstore website.

  • Textbook(s) must be in saleable condition. Sell back prices range from 20% to 50% of bookstore retail prices, when title is needed.
  • Textbook buybacks are NOT available during peak periods, like first weeks of classes. Best buy back times are end of the term, during finals.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do students use financial aid at the bookstore?

Traditional financial aid is through the LSC book advance program.  Students with book advance funds will select financial aid at the checkout on the bookstore website and enter their student ID to charge their aid. Non-traditional aid like VA, and vouchers would enter their program authorization number in the student ID field to charge their aid voucher accounts on the website.

How long will it take to get online ordered books?

Students are welcome to visit the bookstore for purchases, however, the standard order processing and shipping time for in-stock products is 3 to 5 days business days. Customer are encouraged to order early especially during the holiday season such as December as UPS and Federal Express could experience delays during this time. Request for expedited orders will ship the day the product is available. Please allow more time for back-orders and holiday orders.

How do I cancel an order?

To cancel an order, please email the order number and campus location to your local campus bookstore with a cancel order request in the subject line of the emailBookstore addresses are posted on the bookstore website.

How do I return books I purchased but no longer need?

Returns can be mailed or delivered to your local campus bookstore. When returning a book, please include a copy of the original receipt with REFUND REQUEST written on the paperwork.

Where is my order?

All orders are processed, fulfilled, and shipped from our campus bookstore facility. Please log-into your order for a status update or email your local bookstore with your campus location and order number. Please put ORDER UPDATE in the subject line.

Who can a customer contact if an access code they purchased is not working?

Customers that purchased from the bookstore website can email their access code questions with the order number and campus location to the local campus bookstore for assistance.

I accidently purchased the same book twice, what can I do?

You can visit the campus bookstore or mail-in the additional book for a refund.  Be sure to have the original or a copy of the original receipt with REFUND REQUEST written on the paperwork.

My professor says we don’t need the book anymore, what do I do?

Please mail in your un-used books for a refund with a copy of the original receipt with REFUND REQUEST written on the paperwork.

I bought the wrong book by accident, how to I get the correct book?

Please return the incorrect book with receipt to the campus bookstore where it was purchased for a refund and assistance with a book exchange. If you need to mail-in your refund/return book, please include your original receipt with the book. If you need assistance ordering a different book, contact your campus bookstore using the contact list above for more assistance.

Why can’t I reach anyone when I call the bookstore?

It is our goal to respond to every request, however bookstores do get very busy especially at the beginning of each semester which cause wait times to be longer. Please call back or send an email to your local bookstore email address with a detail message and your contact information.

I sent an email about my order, why has no one responded to me?

It is our goal to respond to every email request, however during our busiest season, please allow 2 to 3 business days for a response. Please include your local bookstore location and your order number with a detail message and contact information.
