College Credit for Heroes
The College Credit for Heroes (CCH) program seeks to maximize college credit awarded to veterans and service members for their military experience in order to expedite their transition into the Texas Workforce. The program’s goal is to eliminate obstacles to attaining licensing, certification and accreditation, and degree awards at state and national levels so that veterans’ transition more quickly from the college classrooms to the workforce.
Lone Star College is a partner institution in the College Credit for Heroes program administered by the Texas Workforce Commission. Lone Star College is honored to be a part of the program to serve our veterans and active duty service members. The College Credit for Heroes program seeks to maximize college credit awarded to veterans and service members for their military training, coursework, and experience resulting in military students receiving their degrees based on a shorter timeline. Using the Prior Learning Assessment (PLA) process, veteran and active duty services members can apply to have their military education and experience evaluated to earn credit. For more information please contact our Instructional Designer at LSC-MilitaryServices@lonestar.edu or 281.290.2922 to determine if you have prior learning courses or training to asses using (PLA).
Lone Star College as a participating Texas college in the CCH program agrees to accept college credits recommended through the College Credit for Heroes System where appropriate. Recommended college credits may be applicable to some programs of study but not applicable to others.
