LSC-CyFair History

Lone Star College–CyFair opened its doors August 25, 2003 as the 5th college in the Lone Star College System (previously North Harris Montgomery Community College District).

2000-2002

  • August 2000 - Cy-Fair residents vote overwhelmingly and approve initiative to join NHMCCD
  • May 24, 2001 - Ground-breaking ceremony held for Fairbanks Center

  • February 20, 2012 - DECA member Alenia Cartagena, not only Texas overall winner in the National Case Study Individual Events, but scored the highest in all the state Collegiate DECA Career Development events

  • April 21, 2023 - LSC-CyFair dedicates “BuoyantSea” – a public art installation of more than 100 ceramic fish and orbs displayed outside CASE and two-year collaboration created by six of Professor Kelley Eggert’s advanced ceramics students
