Lone Star College-CyFair is celebrating its 20th anniversary during the 2023-2024 academic year. The college opened in August 2003 with nearly 7,000 students. Two decades later, LSC-CyFair now serves more than 20,000 students.

Our LSC-CyFair faculty and staff are dedicated to preparing students for academic and professional success as well as training the community’s workforce, including nurses, firefighters, teachers, not to mention those in welding, cybersecurity and numerous other industries.

As the fifth comprehensive college in the Lone Star College System, we also serve students at the LSC-Cypress Center, which houses our workforce programs such as Drafting, Engineering Technology, Machining and Welding. The LSC-Westway Park Technology Center is a state-of-the-art training facility focused on our IT and Visual Communication programs.

We began as the Ducks and grew into the Falcons as we continued to soar. You can read about our Falcon alumni success stories each month on Cy’s Spotlight page, including Thomas Jozwiak, who enrolled in our Medical Radiologic Technology program 20 years ago and is now a Radiation Therapist at MD Anderson The Woodlands.

We Belong Library Display

We Belong: Twenty Years of Creating Community, Fostering Learning, and Cultivating Inclusivity will be on display through the fall semester. Come see this archival display featuring photographs and memorabilia of past programs with a focus on collaborations between the library, faculty, students and staff and community partnerships established over the past 20 years.

Cy-Fest: Free Family-friendly Celebration

Enjoy a piece of anniversary cake at Cy-Fest, a community event Oct. 7 featuring a pumpkin patch, arts and crafts, book mobile, bounce houses, musical entertainment and food trucks, just to name a few. LSC-CyFair’s academic and workforce departments will be showcasing their certificate and degree programs and class selections as well as hosting science, art and math activities. Attendees can also get information on the college’s Center for the Arts, Academy for Lifelong Learning, library services and more.
