Among the featured programs designed for children are an all-original Books Alive Theater production on June 26 that’s sure to delight and entertain, as well as returning favorites, such as Zumba with Stephanie Krueger on July 3, Crocodile Encounter July 10, and John O’Bryant’s Magic show July 17.

New this year will be the Houston Museum of Natural Science Discovery Dome July 24. Offered every 20 minutes from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m., attendees can have an immersive, engaging and realistic full-dome theater experience of roaring dinosaurs, soaring spaceships, raging rivers and more.

Free tickets are available in the library at the Kids Corner reference desk 30 minutes prior to each session. For information on these programs, go to cflib.info/kids.

Programs such as book club, crafts, games, RPG and movies are available for both tweens (ages 10-12) and teens (ages13-18). In addition, the library will host two months of “Adventures UNLEASHED” with cat-themed events in June, which is National Adopt-a-Cat Month, and dog-themed events in July. Among the cat and dog-themed activities will be Take-and-Make crafts, story times, books clubs, a “Purr Paws Cat Cafe” and “Pupper Person Pawty” days to adopt a new furry friend.
