Adrian Govea creates his own story at Lone Star College-North Harris

Adrian Govea, Emergency Management Student at LSC-North Harris
Adrian Govea is creating his own path at LSC-North Harris.

In his first year at Lone Star College-North Harris, Adrian Govea has grown fond of the campus community and feels that the college experiences he has had so far have prepared him for his career.

After graduating from Klein Oak High School in 2022, Govea had originally thought about following in his father’s footsteps by joining the military but changed his mind once he decided that he wanted to create his own story. He enrolled at Stephen F. Austin University, but after doing some research, Govea decided that he wanted to enroll at LSC-North Harris to pursue an education in Emergency Management and has been a student on our campus since fall 2023.

“I realized that by pursuing a career in Emergency Management, I could help protect my family, friends, and community from potential hazards,” Govea said. “From hurricanes to homeland security threats, Emergency Management emphasizes all aspects of hazard mitigation.”

Govea’s experiences have been so valuable that, in January, he began working in his chosen field for The Response Group, a company that focuses on emergency response and preparedness for a multitude of clients across the world in both the public and private sectors. Once he graduates in spring 2026, Govea hopes to become an Emergency Manager working in the city/county emergency operations department.

In the meantime, Govea is continuing to focus on the education that is preparing him for his future.

“What I love most about attending LSC-North Harris is the number of quality instructors this campus has,” Govea shared. “Each instructor cares deeply about what they are teaching, and even though they have many students, you can still count on them when you need them most.”
