It’s time for adults age 50 and older to add more enjoyment and learning to their life story and that next chapter starts here at Lone Star College-CyFair’s Academy for Lifelong Learning (ALL) program open house Aug. 13.

Designed for working adults as well as semi-retirees and retirees, the ALL program offers stimulating educational classes, social activities, skills development and personal growth opportunities available in person and online.

Among the feedback from ALL members on the myriad of fun, informative classes are comments such as the classes “have sharpened my mind” and “enriched our lives in so many ways”. Others said ALL is “a fantastic opportunity to meet people, learn new things, and broaden outlook on many things” as well as get “information to navigate some of the challenges seniors face.”  Members said the ALL program also “fulfills a need for intellectual stimulation and conversation” while on a college campus and provides a chance to engage with “the younger generation.”

In addition to popular classes coming back this fall, such as “Basics of Home Repair”, “Introduction to Watercolor” and “How to Travel on a Budget”, there are ALL classes in arts and crafts, culinary arts, genealogy, health and fitness, hobbies and recreation, languages, music and theater, senior issues and technology, and more. The $25 membership investment includes free seminars and workshops, the option to take classes at any of the LSC campuses, discount pricing on performing arts events and access to college libraries.
