LSC-East Aldine Center receives $20,000 donation for Student Success Support Fund

The East Aldine Management District is donating $20,000 to establish the Student Success Support Fund for students at Lone Star College-East Aldine Center.

Dean Reyna Tippetts says the fund will give residents the opportunity to restart their educational journeys and pursue a brighter future.

“This support will enable us to provide accessible scholarships and critical resources for first-generation students, returning students, GED-seeking adults, and other members of our community who often face barriers to higher education.”

The LSC-East Aldine Center offers programs such as HVAC, welding, Inspection Technology, Clinical Medical Assistant (Bilingual), Clinical Nurse Aide, and Electrocardiography Monitor Technician.

Dean Tippetts gave a special thanks to the board members for their generous donation: Chairman Carlos Silva, Vice-Chairman Bob Beasley, Treasurer Abel Garza, Assistant Secretary Reyes Garcia, and Board Members Flor Zarzoza (Position 1), Rocio C. Witte (Position 2), Ruben A. Salazar (Position 4), Sherry Curl (Position 5), and Gilbert Hoffman (Position 8).

“Your partnership reflects the true spirit of the East Aldine District—lifting up residents, expanding opportunity, and strengthening our community through education. We look forward to sharing student success stories, milestones, and the lasting impact your gift will create.”

Dean Tippetts says enrollment has increased over the last year and the center now boasts more than 1,500 students.

“It is my personal mission to remind our community that circumstances do not define our future—we do. With determination, hard work, and access to education, we have the power to transform our paths.  Education is truly the best investment we can make; it is something no one can ever take away.”
