Navigate financial aid with help from Lone Star College System

Lone Star College System’s financial aid department is hosting a Financial Aid Orientation Session this November.

Nearly one-third of the student population and 60% of first-time college students receive financial aid at Lone Star College System to help cover the cost of tuition, fees, books and supplies needed throughout their educational journey.

But navigating the financial aid process can be complicated, so LSCS’s financial aid department is here to help. Current and future students are invited to attend a Financial Aid Orientation Session on Nov. 19 from 3-6 p.m. across all LSCS campuses.

“At Lone Star College System, we strive to make college as accessible and affordable as possible,” said Samreen Khurram, LSCS executive director, Financial Aid. “From federal aid to scholarships, work study opportunities, grants and loans, there are several ways to ease the financial burden so students can focus on their education.”

An expert panel will be available to answer questions regarding financial aid. During 30-minute sessions, attendees will get tips on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and other avenues to financial support.

Visit LoneStar.edu/FA-Event for more information about upcoming sessions on financial aid, budgeting, managing debt and making informed financial decisions.
