Lone Star College-Montgomery proudly participated in the 2025 American Heart Association Walk on Saturday, November 1st, at North Shore Park in The Woodlands, joining thousands across the region in raising awareness and critical funds for heart disease research and education.
This year’s walk held special meaning for the Maverick community, as President Dr. Reid-Hart, a dedicated campus leader and Team Ambassador for HCA Houston Healthcare-Conroe, walked in honor of her daughter, whose life was impacted by a heart condition. Her presence inspired many and underscored the importance of heart health advocacy here on the campus and within the broader Montgomery County area.
The event was part of the college’s ongoing 30 for 30: Maverick Acts of Service initiative, which encourages meaningful community engagement. A total of 112 faculty, staff, and students registered to walk, demonstrating the Maverick spirit of unity and service.
Participants donned their commemorative 30 for 30 t-shirts and walked alongside family, friends, and colleagues in a family-friendly atmosphere filled with energy, compassion, and purpose.
