Lone Star College-CyFair’s new INSPIRE: Connecting Knowledge, Creativity and Community Program offers adults a unique opportunity to learn and connect through presentations, workshops and conversations.
“Whether you're interested in contemporary topics, history, the arts, culture, or hands-on skill-building, INSPIRE provides a welcoming space for fostering curiosity, enrichment and community building,” said Librarian Regina Vitolo, program coordinator. “This new bimonthly program will bring together students, faculty and community members to share knowledge, explore new ideas, nurture creativity, and engage in meaningful dialogue.”
The library is launching INSPIRE with the March 24 program featuring local indie author Gabor Szabo discussing the inspiration and research process behind his recently published historical novel, “Ana's War: A WWII Historical Novel Based on the Accounts of Real Female Snipers” presented as part of Women’s History Month.
Upcoming planned spring programs are the April 14 presentation on the life and poetry of Kahlil Gibran; the April 28 introduction to LSC-CyFair’s community garden to cultivate community; the May 12 DYI eco-friendly flower press book tutorial; and the May 26 showcase of free digital resources available with a Harris County Public Library card.
INSPIRE, a reimagining of the former L.I.F.E. (Learning, Inspiration, Friendship and Enrichment) Program, will be held the second and fourth Tuesdays, from 11 a.m. – noon in the library meeting room, LRNC 131.
