Making Instagram work for small businesses

The Lone Star College Small Business Development Center is launching its Business Success Seminar series Feb. 21 with “Instagram for Business.”

Instagram for Business“It is imperative for small businesses to have a grasp on how to market their business and bring brand awareness via social media,” said Miguel Lopez, LSC-SBDC executive director. “This seminar will specifically focus on how Instagram can be used as a tool to promote and market a business’s product and brand.”

Instagram for Business is the first in a series of seminars hosted by LSC-CyFair. The event takes place Wednesday, Feb. 21, from 8 to 9:15 a.m. at the campus library. There is no cost to attend, one can register at LoneStar.edu/SBDCNetwork.

"Many business owners question whether or not they need a presence on Instagram,” said Demetrius Walker, LSC-SBDC business adviser and presenter for this seminar. “The answer is yes! Leveraging the power of Instagram for business branding and networking is critical. At this seminar, attendees can expect to learn how to connect with potential customers, give their business character, and sell through this social network.”

The LSC-SBDC is co-hosting this event with the LSC-CyFair Library, the Harris County Public Library, and the Cy-Fair Houston Chamber of Commerce.
