Start a New Year of L.I.F.E with Hypnosis, Songwriting, Happiness and Ikebana

L.I.F.E. WorkshopsLone Star College-CyFair’s free workshops in January kicks off the new year with songwriting, hypnosis techniques, the science of happiness and joy in flower arranging.

The free Learning, Inspiration, Friendship and Enrichment (L.I.F.E.) programs are held Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the library (LRNC room 131 unless otherwise noted) at 9191 Barker Cypress.

  • January 9 — Make Your Own Kind of Music
    Singer songwriter Sia Beaton gives insights on how to write songs and may perform a few numbers herself. Ask her about her song, "I've Never Been to Scotland."
     
  • January 16 — Hypnotic Suggestion
    Dan Perez of Hypnosis Works! demonstrates hypnosis techniques and explains how they can help you lead a happier, healthier and more productive life.
     
  • January 23 — The Science of Happiness
    Don’t be a victim of your moods. Tejal Ravani, healer and happiness coach, uncovers practices based on science to tap into improved well-being and positivity. Say and do your gratitudes.
     
  • January 30 — The Joy of Japanese Flower Arranging
    Enjoy the beauty of simplicity and enhance your soul with ikebana. Professor Yoshiko Smith, Ikenobo Ikebana Society of Texas, demonstrates this ancient art.
