Endless options available at Lone Star College-North Harris

Have you recently considered going back to school, but don’t know exactly where to start? Advisors and counselors at Lone Star College-North Harris (LSC-North Harris) are ready to help you begin or continue your educational journey.

Fall 2019 registration is underway at LSC-North Harris and at its newest center, LSC-East Aldine Center, located at 2430 Aldine Mail Route Rd., Houston, TX 77039. Future students can choose from hundreds of classes and more than 200 degree programs with affordable costs. Classes begin on Monday, Aug. 26 and are offered in in-person, online and hybrid formats.

“Lone Star College-North Harris and Lone Star College-East Aldine Center pride themselves in providing quality education at affordable costs and in being one of the community’s first choices when pursuing higher education,” said Vice President of Enrollment Management Dr. Derrick Manns. “Our professors and staff are eager to begin the fall 2019 semester and help educate the next generation of Houston leaders.”

LSC-North Harris and LSC-East Aldine Center classes are designed to fit a wide range of academic goals, including certificates, continuing education, associate degrees and university transfer. Fall classes being offered include the traditional core courses, such as math, biology, English, and government. Degree specific courses are also available, such as cosmetology, massage therapy, speech, theatre, welding and much more.

Potential students should begin with the following checklist to enroll for the fall 2019 semester.

Step 1: Apply for Admission
Complete the online admissions application at https://www.applytexas.org/. There is no application fee.

Step 2: Request an Official Transcript
Send your high school or previous college transcripts to LSC-North Harris or LSC-East Aldine Center.

Step 3: Apply for Financial Aid
Apply for financial aid at http://www.lonestar.edu/financial-aid.htm.  Most students qualify for financial aid.

Step 4: Placement Testing
Transfer students who are TSI Complete or Exempt are not required to take the TSI Assessment, but they will need to submit appropriate documentation for verification.  If you are not TSI Complete or Exempt, you are required to complete the TSI Assessment.

Step 5: Bacterial Meningitis Vaccination Compliance
All incoming students must comply with the bacterial meningitis vaccination requirement unless they are exempt.

Step 6: Meet with an Advisor
Meet with an advisor prior to registering for classes to ensure that classes will count towards the desired degree plan.
